Manny a Giant???

The word on Manny Ramirez right now is that him and Scott Boras are considering an offer
Manny.jpgfrom the Giants. The offer is 3 years and a club option for the 4th year. I have not been able to find out how much per year.

Manny make perfect sense for the Giants. They will get their number 4 hitter that they have been looking for. This is a guy that would be able to change the outlook of game by himself. With the good starting pitching that the Giants have. They should pay the money for Manny Ramirez. Like they said on MLB Network. “Manny is a division changer. With the pitching and Manny the Giants will be the favorites in the NL West.

The outfield is already set with Aaron Rowand, Randy Winn and Fred Lewis. Fred Lewis will move to the bench and Manny will be in Left Field. Fred Lewis would still be getting a lot of playing time. He can play all 3 outfield positions. He can also come in for defense in the late innings. Now it’s time to play the waiting game and see what Manny decides to do. I’m sure he will want to go back to the Dodgers. AT&T park is not a hitter friendly park.

King – the only thing you have to worry about is while Manny is a great hitter he can destroy a club house with his behavior. Good Manny vs Bad Manny is very tiring. And if he decides in the middle of the year that he “doesn’t feel like playing” – forget it! You’ll be paying a lot of money for a bench warmer.

I agree with Julia and with all those young guys I’m not sure Manny would be the best influence, plus I’m not sure the guy makes the Giants a division favorite. Lincecum has to have another amazing year and the Johnson has to stay healthy along with the rest of the staff like Zito really being worth it. I would make the point they can contend in the division but not so sure for the division.

    Hey Cali-King, nice work.

Manny could very well be in a Giants uniform next year. I really wonder about his contract situation. I know that many teams are interested. What I don’t know is if they are willing to fork over all of what he is asking for? With economic situation as it is – as teams like the Yankees pass on Manny – can he still command the 22 mill? Hopefully, the Giants will be able to afford him. He is great vetern hitter and a much needed commodity for that Giants lineup.
