Andruw Jones is back in the free agent market
The Dodgers signed Andruw Jones a year ago and make him the highest paid
player in franchise history. Now a year later they are releasing him. Jones batted .158 with three home runs and 14 RBI’s. Jones was a huge disappointment. He came into spring training well overweight.

The team that decides to sign Jones would only have to offer him the league minimum which is $400,000. The Dodgers would still have to pay him the rest of his salary. Jones will probably end up going back to the Braves to revamp his career. He should go back to a place where he has had so much success. I’m sure he will have a bounce back year with whatever team he plays with next season.

Oh yeah – another unsigned player! When do you think Manny will be signed and where will he go?

King of Cali,
Harold Reynolds of MLB Network sees an Andruw Jones comeback in the future, and I do too! They did this great segment where they showed the difference between his batting stance in ’05, and this past year. I think Atlanta will pick him up, and see how he is in Spring Training.

I’m not sure about the bounceback year. His batting average has been declining for a while now, and the last two seasons have been just terrible. I think he’ll probably only get a Spring Training invite and be lucky to make the roster. But that’s just my opinion.

Jones is done. What a disastrous decline from a former potential Hall of Famer.

Andruw may have a bounceback year…but this is the last chance he’s gonna get, so he should try his very hardest.
