Manny is it going to be Giants or Dodgers?
A local writer in the Bay Area has said that he thinks the Dodgers have made their final offer to Manny Ramirez. We all know that the Dodgers have made 3 offers but none of them seem to be anywhere near what Ramirez wants. I still think there is no way Manny will end up with anyone else other than the Dodgers, but a lot of Giants fan feel they can snag him now if they really want him. It’s hard to believe that Manny is still a free agent and were a little over a week away from the start of spring training.

Barry Zito has been trying to get updates from Scott Boras about Manny Ramirez but he said Boras is being to professional. He won’t give Zito any insight either. It’s just a waiting game for everyone. The Dodgers have much more to lose by not signing Manny. They had the Dodgers and the Giants never had him.
Are you guys tired of the Manny rumors or do you love this because it’s part of baseball?

As a Red Sox fan – I find it hysterical that it is just over a week until the start of Spring Training and Manny doesn’t have a home! I wonder just how much Manny truly thinks he is worth? And – do you think a lot of players might be dropping Scott Boras as their agent? I do! I think he lost a lot of players a lot of money this off-season; starting with Jason Varitek!

Manny and his agent are ridiculous. They are like made for each other. I don’t see Manny going anywhere but the Dodgers either because they seem to be the only team patient enough to deal with him and Scott Boras. Julia I think you’re right about Boras. I like that teams like the Red Sox are not allowing him to just run the show anymore, but there are still the Yankees. They are willing to do anything to get what they want so Scott may still have a job as long as they continue to be as ridiculous as he is.

Thanks. Same to you. The Giants could really use him, although I agree that I can’t see him with any other team.
Steven,
I’m a bit tired of the rants on MLB Network that are the same every single night, but like baseball I love not knowing what’s going to happen in the free agent market. Manny just thinks he is God’s gift to the baseball world doesn’t he? We’ll just have to see how it goes.

Can you believe he turned down 25 million?!?
You can create a fantasy league inside yahoo sports and convince your friends to join. 12 people can play in a league. Lemme know if you have problems and I can help. It’s a blast!!

I’m ready for him to settle down with a nice team and play ball. I heard Bruce Bochy on XM yesterday. His non-answer to the question, “Are the Giants going to get Manny?” was “As long as he’s still a free agent there’s a chance.”
But, I think the Dodgers need him worse than the Giants. They don’t have much without him. The Giants have possibly the best pitching staff in baseball, plus a couple kids who could have breakout years at the plate: Sandoval and Lewis.

I think he will end up in LA. I really like how the Giants are going after big names but I think they should just be trying to get younger. I really didn’t understand the Renteria trade or the Johnson signing. They need to surround the young stars (Lincecum, Cain) with other young stars. The Giants just got over all the drama with Bonds, adding Manny will just bring all that back.

I am very sick of this situation. We’ve been talking about this almost all offseason, and it’s about time for it to get finished. I doubt he will have a team by Spring Training. At this rate, he might as well retire!!

I don’t think he’s too concerned about missing Spring Training. That’s how selfish he is.

I think Manny will probably end up signing with the Dodgers for a two-year deal with an option for a third year … But, I really would not want Manny on my team for any amount of money !!! … He brings way too many headaches along with the package [it really was, and still is, a disgrace the way he gave up on his Boston teammates, coaches, management, and the Red Sox fans last year] !!! … For about the same amount of money it would take to sign Manny [about $25 Million per year?], any team could sign, like you said in your above comments, “Bobby Abreu and Adam Dunn”, and even Orlando Hudson … All three players on a team that would sign them, would offer much more production, and none of the drama of “Manny being Manny” on the team !!! … As a Yankees fan, I still hold out hope that the Yankees will re-sign Bobby Abreu, who if he was on the team right now, in my view, would be the Yanks best overall outfielder !!! … Jimmy [27NYY] … http://baseballtheyankeesandlife.mlblogs.com/
