My 2nd Fantasy Baseball Team
Last Friday I did my 2nd Fantasy Draft. I had the 6th pick in the draft. My #1 pick of the draft was Josh Hamilton. I have never played Fantasy Baseball before so I’m still not to sure how everything works. I know I have two guys on this team that are injured. I decided to get Alex Rodriguez since I figured he would be back in May. I also got Troy Glaus. I had no idea he was injured. I think I seen on MLB. com today that he won’t be back till June. Grrrrrrreat (not Tony The Tiger Grrrrrrreat) now I need to figure something out. lol Well here is my 2nd Fantasy team. Let me know what you think and any suggestions would be nice. =)

whats the deal with Sandoval? Kinda came outta nowhere. I picked him up too as my 1B. hoping for big things out of the san francisco slugger

Sandoval came up at the end of last season. This guy can rake! He’s going to hit for a high avg. I’m sure he will have some home runs too. This guy goes up and swings at anything and gets the good part of the bat on the ball. He won’t have very many walks.

If your second team is like our bloggers league where fielding stats don’t count, then I might have a suggestion. Haha ok here goes: if Sandoval can play third, put him there until A-Rod is ready to play again. Then put Thome at first since that’s what he played in Philly. I hope that’s helpful…I have no idea if it is. If fielding stats are included, then I have no idea how to help hahaha. Nice pitching staff, by the way. Good pickups with Lester, Cain, and Danks.

Hey Jen,
I think I can only use Thome as a util player. He doesn’t have a position. That’s the only role he can play. I think I’m going to drop Glaus and signe either Mike Lowel or Casey Blake. Lowel is only at 3rd base, and Blake can play 1st or 3rd.

Let me see if I can get you a few steals here.
1) David Murphy of the Mets might be a nice pick up in place of Delmon Young.
2 ) For Glaus, hmmmmmmmmm maybe pick up Elijah Dukes of the Nationals, who will get a few homers and also steals bases.
3 ) George Sherill might not be a great option, because Chris Rays will be closing for Baltimore after April ends.
Maybe picking up Brandon Morrow of the Mariners’ who decided to close since he will not make the team as a starter. they have enough faith in him to waive Tyler Walker as their current closer.
It actually is a great set team right now, but sometimes you can tweak it a bit and actually get a awesome team that will steal you extra stats during the year.
Have fun with it this year……………I ma hunting for bear in the MLBlogger League

I think your team is pretty good!

Good job picking up Little Money. I don’t know about him at 1B, but he’s sure to help overall.
I have Lewis on my crew, too. I’m sure you’ll end up starting him before long.
I picked up Sanchez as my fourth starter rather than Cain, who went much higher and just seems snake-bit. Though Sanchez should stay away from hot stoves.

What’s with all the Dodgers on your squad?
You’ve got a pretty good lookin’ team! I’d give you some advice like everyone else, but I don’t really know a whole lot about Fantasy Baseball. I’ve played it for awhile but I’m not the greatest at it, lol.
Good luck 🙂

I don’t think I’d pick Weaver, but the others look good to me.

Good to see another fantasy player! I am an avid one myself, and I now have someone to vent to about my fantasy “troubles” here on the blogosphere.

Hey man
Glad to see you’ve gotten into fantasy. I wrote a column for MLB.com last year about being a newbie, so I feel you. If you ever have any questions, drop me on a comment on my blog and I’ll be happy to help you.
I like your team, if Furcal stays healthy, you should be good (and if he doesn’t, I imagine you’ll enjoy watching the Dodgers flounder without him). Since your league doesn’t have a Corner Infielder spot, I’m guessing there are some solid 3b’s on the waiver wire to tide you over until May 15th (that’s when ARod is expected back). If available, I’d pick them up in this order
– Alex Gordon (hammering the ball right now)
– Mark Reynolds (got off to a real fast start last year, maybe he does the same)
– Kevin Kouzmanoff (steady production that won’t hurt you for a month)
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can do anything else to help you out.
