Giants Fight But Still Come Up Short Against The Mets
My Giants weren’t able to get the win last night, but they were able to fight back to tie the game in the bottom of the 8th. These guys have a lot of heart to try to battle so hard every game. Once they tied the game last night. I thought they had to win the game, cause you’re the home team and your playing the Mets. You can’t let games slip away. The Mets ended up scoring 3 runs off of Wilson in the 9th inning. Mets win 7 to 4 in game one of a 4 game series. The Mets had 7 steals last night. Even 40 year old Gary Sheffield was off and running.
Tim Lincecum is on the mound tonight. Giants fans are hoping he will stop a 2 game losing streak. The Mets send ex-Giant Livan Hernandez to the mound. I remember Livan always getting shelled in the first inning and then pitching a gem the rest of the game. I just hope he lets the Giants smack him around AT&T Park tonight. This is a game the Giants should be able to win tonight. It’s going to be a nice sight at the park to see Lincecum face the tough Mets hitters.
I’m going to be at the game tonight. If any other bloggers are going to be there. Let me know and maybe I will let you get a taste of my Garlic Fries if you buy me a beer. lol jk 😉

Giants Have A Tough Test Against The Mets!
My Giants weren’t able to get the sweep, but at least they were able to win the series. The Giants haven’t lost a series since they were swept in Los Angeles against the Dodgers on their first road trip. They have either split or won the last 9 series. These guys are fighting for every run they get. Some days they come out banging and others they come out and get get anyone to score. The Mets come into town today for a 4 game series. They have the same record as the Giants, but they are a team that’s expected to be a top team to make a run at the World Series. Different expectations for these 2 teams. It’s going to be a test for the Giants to see if they can hang with some tough teams. I will be at Friday night’s game. Tim Lincecum will be on the mound that night. It should be an exciting game to see him against the tough Mets hitters. One good thing for the Giants is that Carlos Delgado might be sitting out this series. I believe the Mets are thinking about possibly putting him on the DL.
I’m not going to be able to get to the game early for batting practice, so I won’t be able to take any cool pictures. =( I will be there a little before game time, and that means I’m going straight to the Garlic Fries line. Garlic fries and beer are for sure things on my list for tomorrow. Probably have to get a Giants Dog too. Tomorrow is my splurge day I guess. I have been eating really healthy for the past 4 days. I’m doing this P90X workout and eating good, so I can see results. One day here and there can’t hurt that much can it?
If any other bloggers are going to be at the game tomorrow night. Let me know, so I can look out for you. Maybe even let you buy me a beer or something. lol jk 😉

Strawberry is the next guy to bash players in a book
Just when you thought the books of bashing players was going to stop. It’s not…. Darryl Strawberry is going to be releasing a book in April. “Straw: Finding My Way” will detail the boozing, skirt-chasing New York Mets of the
mid-1980’s.

“We were the boys of summer. The drunk, speed-freak, sneaking a smoke boys of summer,” Strawberry writes.” I have read that Strawberry will not be saying names of players but will tell it how it was during that time from his point of view.
I know I can’t wait to read this one. I have a few books that I want to read. This is another to add to my to do list. I always liked Strawberry. He just never was able to keep his nose clean. I remember when the Giants had him (1994). There was a sign behind him at the stadium saying “Strawberry Patch”. Awww the memories. =) Click here to read about the Strawberry book.

Giants sign Edgardo Alfonzo
The Giants got him! Not the San Francisco Giants. The Yomiuri Giants signed
Edgardo Alfonzo. He signed a one year contract for $380,000. The Giants gave him the contract after he tried out at their spring training camp.

Alfonzo was quoted on Monday saying “It’s an honor to become a member of the Giants and I’ll play my hardest to contribute to the team.”
I’m glad to see Alfonzo is still playing ball, cause you know he loves the game. He hasn’t been in the Majors since 2006. I hope he has a good season over there. I can’t see any MLB team signing Alfonzo if there is still a lot of players not signed. Guys like Ray Durham might be forced to retire because no teams have any interest in him.

What player on your favorite team will have a breakout year in 2009?
Well I think a couple players on the Giants will have a breakout year. I guess I will
name them both and for different reasons. I think Pablo Sandoval will have a very nice season with the bat. He hit .345, 3 Home Runs and 24 RBI’s in just 41 games. I believe that was just a sample of what he can do with a bat in his hands. He does hit for AVG, but I’m hoping he gets a little more pop in his bat. He will probably be batting 3rd and I’m sure he will keep his AVG up and RBI’s will also come easy for him with Renteria on base a lot in front of him.

Who do you belive will be your teams breakout player of 2009?
