Tim Lincecum is scratched from making the start. He has the flu, so Jeremy Affeldt gets the start. He’s not a starting pitcher. He’s going to be a reliever this season for the Giants. Figgins did lead the game off with a hit. Affeldt then struck out Kendrick. The next hitter is Matthews. Figgins then stole 2nd base and then stole 3rd base. Matthews then walks to make it 1st and 3rd with one out. Torii Hunter then hit a double to get 2 RBI’s. Kendry Morales (who also is on my fantasy team) then hit a double to get an RBI. Juan Rivera grounds out to end the inning. Eugenio Velez starts the Giants first off with a single. Rich Aurilia then walked setting up 1st and 2nd. Bengie Molina then hit a 2 run double. The guys on the radio said if anyone else would have been running for Molina it would have been an in the park home run. Everyone knows Bengie is the slowest guy in baseball. He still did his job driving runs in though. After 1 inning it’s the Angels 3 and the Giants 2. The 2nd inning was 3 up for the Angels and 3 up for the Giants.
No scoring in the 3rd inning for either team. The Angels also didn’t score in the top of the 4th. Nate Schierholtz strikes out swinging but gets to first on the wild pitch. Juan Uribe then gets an RBI double to tie the game at 3. Kevin Frandsen gets a RBI single up the middle to score Juan Uribe. This giving the Giants a 4-3 lead. The Angels answer right back in the top of the 5th by score 2 runs off of Bob Howry. Bengie Molina gets an RBI single in the bottom of the 5th inning to tie the game up at 5. Nothing exciting in the 6th inning offensively for either the Giants or Angels. No runs scored in the 7th inning either.
The Angels take the lead in the top of the 8th inning by scoring 2 runs. Then two wild pitches by Luis Perdomo scores another Angels player giving the Angels a 3 run lead. On Perdomo’s 2nd wild pitch he walked the batter and the batter ran all the way to 2nd base. Perdomo then tried to pick him off and threw it wild again. This allowing the runner to get to 3rd base. The Angels end up with 3 runs in the top of the 8th and the Giants have no answer back this time and go scoreless in the 8th. Now it’s the 9th inning. If we (Giants) were up. I would call this the Nenth inning. I always called it the Nenth inning for Rob Nen. Man this guy was a great Giant closer. Well the game is now over and the Giants wouldn’t get another run. Out of the last 9 Giants to bat there was 5 strike outs.
Angels get 8 runs, 10 hits and 1 error. Giants get 5 runs, 8 hits and 2 errors.
There was only two Giants players with multiple hits. Rich Aurilia went 2-2 with a walk and scored 1 run. Bengie Molina went 2-3 with 3 RBI’s.

Giants start the game off by going 3 up and 3 down. Renteria did get a hit but was out in the double play ball hit by Lewis. The Rockies start the game off by getting 1 run on 1 hit in the bottom of the 1st inning. Helton gets the RBI scoring Spilborghs. Sandoval starts the 2nd inning off with a single. Then Ishikawa hit it back to the pitcher. Which turned out to be the 2nd double play ball hit by the Giants in the first 2 innings. Turns out to be another 3 up 3 down inning. Ex-Giant Yorvit Toorrealba started the bottom of the 2nd with a bloop single. I always liked Torrealba and he’s a player that I always want to see him play good. Just don’t like to see him do good against the Giants. The Giants did get out of the inning now allowing any runs. John Bowker would start the 3rd inning off with a hit. The starting pitcher Pucetas gets a single to set up the Giants with runners at 1st and 3rd. Then Velez got a 2 run triple. He may have had an in the park home run if the pitcher wasn’t the runner at 1st base. Fred Lewis also hits a triple to score Velez and give the Giants a 3-1 lead. The Rockies finally went down in order 3 up and 3 down in the bottom of the 3rd inning.
The Rockies did score their 2nd run in the 7th. After the 7th inning the score is Giants 3 and Rockies 2. Buster Posey did get a pinch hit AB but failed to get a hit. The Giants didn’t score any in the top of the 8th. The Rockies also were held scoreless as well. The Rockies got runners on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the 9th and then got a sacrifice fly to tie the game up at 3-3. Now I’m hoping the Rockies just win it now, cause I don’t have much more time to listen to the game. This game needs to end within 20 mins or this blog is getting posted with out the final score or final stats. =) Now the game is going into the 10th.
Didn’t take long for the Giants to score a run. The 2nd pitch in the 10 inning was hit by Torres for a home run to give the Giants a 4-3 lead. Well in my mind the Giants will win, cause I’m leaving while they have the lead.
The Giants still scored a few more runs before I could post this blog. The score is now 7-3 Giants. Giants scored 4 times on 6 hits and an error. The Rockies are coming up to bat in the bottom of the 10th but I won’t be able to post what happens. Have a nice weekend my fellow bloggers.

This is just something I have been thinking about and I’m curious as to what other bloggers think about this. If you could start your with one player. Who would be the guy you would build your team around? Would you start off with a young Ace like Tim Lincecum. Somebody that can start every five days and shut the other team down. Maybe you want a star shortstop like Derek Jeter. Someone that can hit and give you a 100% day in and day out. Maybe you want a centerfielder like Aaron Rowand that goes balls out on defense. You can even go with a monster swinger like Ryan Howard. He can spark your offense and get a ton of RBI’s. There is so many ways you can go with this. I’m just curious to see what bloggers would go with what guys to start a team and build around them. I look forward to your comments.

The Diamondbacks got 2 hits in the top of the 1st but did not score. Dan Haren gets the start for the D-Backs. He did get Rajai Davis to fly out and then walked Travis Buck. Matt Holliday then grounded into a fielders choice. Forcing out Buck at 2nd base. Haren then faced Jason Giambi and fell off to the side of the mound which caused some concern to the D-Backs, so they came out to check on him. He said he was fine and stayed in the game. He then walked Giambi, so runners on 1st and 2nd. He then got into a 3-0 count and Ellis then hit an RBI single scoring Matt Holliday from 2nd base. Haren then struck out Powell to get out of the inning. After one inning it’s the D-Backs 0 and the A’s 1.
Upton led off the 2nd inning with a single off of Mazzaro. Mazzaro gets Reynolds to strike out. Upton tried to steal 3rd base but got thrown out by A’s catcher Landon Powell. Snyder then strikes out and Skelton grounds out to end the top of the 2nd inning. Bobby Crosby then led off the bottom of the 2nd. I really want this guy to do good. I like him and feel bad that the A’s went out to get Orlando Cabrera. I’m sure they are looking to trade Crosby. He didn’t help himself off because he struck out to start the 2nd inning. Dan Haren retired the A’s in order going 3 up and 3 down to end the 2nd inning.
Dan Haren reached his pitch count after walking Giambi in the bottom of the 4th. He pitched 3 innings allowing 1 hit, 1 run, 3 walks and 4 strike outs. Going into the top of the 5th the A’s are still clinging to a 1 run lead. In the bottom of the 5th the A’s got 3 straight hits off of Qualls. Giambi got an RBI single. After 5 innings its the A’s 2 and the D-Backs 0. The A’s add on to the score in the bottom of the 7th inning. Doolittle hits a home run to make the score 5-0. The A’s would add one more run before the inning ends.
The D-Backs did load the bases in the top of the 8th inning, but couldn’t get any runs in. A double play ball ended their chance to score. The D-Backs finally scored in the 9th inning, but to little to late.
The D-Backs score 1 run on 10 hits with 0 errors. The A’s scored 6 runs on 12 hits and 1 error. There was only 2 players who had a multi hit game. The D-Backs Frey had 2 hits in 5 AB’s with the only RBI of the game for the D-Backs. The A’s Mark Ellis was 2-16 coming into this game. Ellis went 2-3 with 1 RBI. That was his first RBI of the spring.
One good thing about listening to the A’s -D-Backs game on the radio was they did a lot of talking about the Giants. I guess cause the Giants and A’s are in the bay area and the D-Backs are in the NL West with the Giants. They also think Zito will have a decent year because he’s going to be the #4 starter. They also think the Giants still need one big bat to add to the lineup. They are saying the same stuff I have been blogging about this whole off season. Does this mean I should work in baseball too? I wish!
