Do Giants Have Enough Offense To Win NL West In 2012?

Happy New Years Giants fans! Let’s hope it will be a healthy 2012 for the San Francisco Giants!

The offensive upgrades have been bringing in Melky Cabrera and Angel Pagan via trades. This offense will be much better in 2012 with a healthy Buster Posey and Freddy Sanchez. Let’s not forget that Pablo Sandoval also missed some time.

Do you believe the Giants have enough to win the NL West in 2012?

Beltran to the Giants Thoughts

The San Francisco Giants made a statement this week by trading for Carlos Beltran and taking 2-out-of-3 from the Phillies.

Beltran’s bat is legit. This guy can hit in the middle of the lineup for any team. I really believed he was the Giants guy for the taking. The only problem was who were they going to be willing to part with.

If you thought Beltran was headed to the Phillies or Braves, you were way off! There was no way the Mets were going to trade him to a team in their division. That’s like the Giants trading Pablo Sandoval to the Dodgers or the Red Sox trading Big Papi (David Ortiz) to the Yankees. Just not gonna happen…

Even if the Mets got a wild hair in their nose and decided to trade him in the nl East, it’s a good thing the Giants snagged Beltran before he got a chance to throw on a Phillies or Mets jersey.

Giants Offseason Thoughts

The offseason has had a lot of action with the Adrian Gonzalez trade, and Cliff Lee going to the Phillies. There is a lot of baseball fans that are saying with Lee joining the Phillies that they should get into Sports Betting, and put some money on the Phillies.

The Giants haven’t made any big moves this offseason, but they did manage to keep the core of the World Series Champions together. Renterias return is up in the air, and Uribe has left town to join the Dodgers.

I believe Sabean will do his best work during the season, and that’s when he get’s a player here or there to fill gaps. Also hot prospect Brandon Belt might be the big boost if he continues to swing like he has been.

Guillen To The Giants Insights!

The Newest Giants player is Jose Guillen. All it took was a high-five, some cash and a PTBNL (Player To Be Named Later).

I’m getting mixed reactions from all Giants fans about the Jose Guillen trade. I think every GM’s goal is to make your whole roster stronger, so adding Guillen would be a good thing right?

SF Giants 2010 Opener

Opening Day has come and gone. The Giants are currently on pace to win 162 games. That will more than likely not happen, because we do have Barry Zito pitching about 29 of those games. Which means the Giants will probably go 133-29 this year.  I’m only kidding….

The Giants looked great last night in the opener. Tim Lincecum was awesome and shined like a bright star in space. I’m just messing around with the star comment, but he did look really good. He went 7 strong innings and only allowed 4 hits. He didn’t give up any runs or walks. His velocity was around 92-95mph, so that quiet down some of the Lincecum haters that said he wasn’t going to be the same pitcher.

I have more insights on the SF Giants Rumors – 2010 Season Opener Recap. Check it out and leave your comments there. You can see how Mark DeRosa and Aubrey Huff did in their Giants debut.

Winter Meetings have come and gone and it’s still quiet in San Francisco. Sure there has been a lot of hot rumors going around, but Sabean hasn’t pulled the trigger yet. The Uggla rumors is still as hot as ever. The last I heard was the Marlins want Jonathan Sanchez, Clayton Tanner and a mid-level pitching prospect. To read my thoughts on this trade rummor click here.

I also heard that the Giants organization is doing well financially. Which means they can decide to take a little pay cut and sign a big player to keep the Giants fans happy. Free Agents That Are Linked To The Giants!

Heyyyy my fellow MLB Bloggers. I know it’s been a while since I have lasted posted a blog. It’s offseason now and the hot stove is starting to heat up. All the Giants fans out there know that the Giants are not going to try to snag Holliday or Bay. They just think the mutual interest isn’t there. Sabean has said he’s going to focus on the free agent market rather than trade, and he will be looking at second tier free agents. Some names that have been thrown out there are Nick Johnson, Jermaine Dye, Gary Sheffield…etc. For more of the rumors daily San Francisco Giants Rumors. Go to www.sfgiantsbaseball.net.
