My 2nd Fantasy Baseball Team
Last Friday I did my 2nd Fantasy Draft. I had the 6th pick in the draft. My #1 pick of the draft was Josh Hamilton. I have never played Fantasy Baseball before so I’m still not to sure how everything works. I know I have two guys on this team that are injured. I decided to get Alex Rodriguez since I figured he would be back in May. I also got Troy Glaus. I had no idea he was injured. I think I seen on MLB. com today that he won’t be back till June. Grrrrrrreat (not Tony The Tiger Grrrrrrreat) now I need to figure something out. lol Well here is my 2nd Fantasy team. Let me know what you think and any suggestions would be nice. =)

Should The Giants Snag Sheffield?
I have been thinking if the Giants should go out and get Gary Sheffield. They would only have to pay him $400,000. The Tigers will have to pay him his $14 Million for this year. He would be a good bat to put in the middle of the
lineup. He might not be able to play everyday which would be fine to get other guys playing time. I’m just not sure who I would sit down to get him in the game. Randy Winn is the most consistent player we have had. Aaron Rowand plays center and the Giants want Fred Lewis in left. I think I might just keep moving Winn around and whatever outfielder gets a day off that’s where I would put Winn. I’m still not sold on if I were the Giants if I would do it. It’s just hard to pass up on a power bat like Sheffield’s that’s available for only $400,000. I’m sure he will be signed soon. Just not sure what team will jump out there and snag him.

Giants, Edgar Renteria status
Heyyyy fellow bloggers. Just wanted to keep you guys updated on Edgar Renteria. I got some good news for those of you out there that care. Renteria hasn’t done anything on the field for the Giants yet, but did try on
some uniform pants. Then a reporter asked him about his weight. He said he did lose at least 10 pounds. He then tugged at the waist of his pants to show off the two to three inches of excess room. Renteria then said “You can tell.” That shows that Renteria took his off-season seriously to get himself in good shape again. Giants fans would love to see Renteria get his bat back to his 2007 season with the Braves when he hit .332 with the Braves.

Jim Leyland the Tigers manager thinks Renteria will be a good player for the Giants. Bruce Bochy has studied videotape of Renteria and doesn’t have any concerns. Renteria still thinks he can play. He said “I always say that if one day I wake up and I feel like I can’t play anymore, I’ll quit, no matter how much money I’m making.”
We all know he’s no Omar Vizquel, but we don’t need him to fill those shoes. We just need him to make the plays he should make. We signed him to be an offense upgrade at the shortstop position. I’m sure Edgar will do his job 2nd in the lineup. He can move runners over and he will get on base for Sandoval and Molina.

What player on your favorite team will have a breakout year in 2009?
Well I think a couple players on the Giants will have a breakout year. I guess I will
name them both and for different reasons. I think Pablo Sandoval will have a very nice season with the bat. He hit .345, 3 Home Runs and 24 RBI’s in just 41 games. I believe that was just a sample of what he can do with a bat in his hands. He does hit for AVG, but I’m hoping he gets a little more pop in his bat. He will probably be batting 3rd and I’m sure he will keep his AVG up and RBI’s will also come easy for him with Renteria on base a lot in front of him.

Who do you belive will be your teams breakout player of 2009?
